Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

We are situated on the South Westerly slope of Red Mountain just outside of Benton City, Washington state on Sunset Road.

How late are you open?

We are open from 11am - 5pm on Sunday to Thursday, and from 11am to 6pm on Friday and Saturday.

Do I need a reservation?

No reservations are needed unless you are a group of 6 people or more, or if you have a special situation such as bringing a dog or children, or if you desire a vineyard or winery tour.

Are minors allowed?

Yes, we are family-friendly. Children are welcome in the tasting room and outside areas. However, since we serve alcohol, we kindly request that no one under 21 years old sit in the wine club room or at the bar. We ask parents to be mindful that many guests come to relax and enjoy a child-free environment.

What is your policy on dogs?

Dogs are allowed on our outdoor covered patio. We provide water bowls and treats for our furry friends. Unfortunately, the Benton County Health Department does not permit dogs inside the facility. However, our shaded concrete area is not hot enough to cause discomfort, even on a hot summer day. ADA-qualified service animals are welcome throughout the facility.

Do you offer food?

Hamilton Cellars offers a selection of snack items including chips, cheese & crackers, jerky, nuts, and chocolates. You are also welcome to bring your own food to enjoy on our patio. However, if you choose to eat inside, please only consume the snacks available for sale in our tasting room. Please note that our food offerings are limited to pre-packaged snacks as we are not a restaurant. For events and special situations, we may have a caterer, but these would typically be for our Wine Club or require the purchase of a ticket.

How much do you charge for tastings?

Our tasting fees range from $15 to $20, and these fees can be waived if you purchase 2 bottles. During a tasting, you can try up to 4 wines.

When are you opening in Everett Washington?

Currently the schedule is to open our new tasting room in Everett in the Spring of 2025.

How many people can I bring into the wine club area as a member?

As a member, you can bring 3 additional people without an RSVP in advance.

Do you host weddings?

Yes, we do host weddings. Find out more information here.

Do you host private events?

Yes, we also host private events. Find out more information here.

What is a wine "flight"?

A wine flight is typically three 3oz pours of wines, side by side in separate glasses, for a sensory evaluation and comparison. We offer two different "wine flights" for purchase, each featuring three different wines.

Can we go through a wine tasting while seated at a table?

In order to provide the best tasting experience, we ask that all sampling is done at the bar. This way we can present the wines in turn for you to compare. If you would like to purchase by the glass or bottle, we invite you to find a comfortable spot and our staff will be happy to serve you. Special group tasting at tables can be arranged in advance for groups of 6 or more.  We also know that our view and outside seating is a big draw.  So if you must sit outside while tasting, please come in for each pour at the bar.

Do you ship wine?

Currently we can ship wine throughout the states of Washington, Idaho, California, Oregon, Arizona, Florida, Washington DC, Montana, Texas, Minnesota, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Colorado. Please check back with us as we have applied for permits in several other states, and we are currently waiting for approval to ship.

Where are some good places to stay in the area?

In Prosser, there is the Best Western the Inn at Horse Heaven and the Holiday Inn. In Richland, you can consider the Lodge at Columbia Point and Homewood Suites by Hilton. In Kennewick, options include the Best Western and the Hampton Inn.

May we stay overnight in our RV?

We allow members of Harvest Hosts to stay overnight on our 2 gravel pads. Reservations through the Harvest Host system are required and must be approved before stay. This is very popular, please plan ahead! If you are not Harvest Hosts member but still want to stay with us on the RV pad, it is $50 a night. Please email us at info@hamiltoncellars.com to RSVP.

Do you donate to charities or causes?

We regularly donate to several charities. If you would like to request a donation of wine or an experience for your charity, please send us an email. While we cannot fulfill every request, we prioritize charities that our club members are involved with.
